Through Our Eyes book began with an open call for photographs, stories, and oral histories from those who lived through the storm. Hundreds of submissions followed—from first responders and neighbors who pulled families from danger to scenes of a rebuilding effort still underway. Together, they offer a rare ground-level view of how an isolated mountain town relied on one another to survive.

Who are we?
Rebuild Hot Springs Area (RHSA) is a community-driven nonprofit organization made up entirely of volunteer residents of Hot Springs, NC. Our organization was created in response to the devastation our town experienced following Hurricane Helene. We aim to assist our neighbors in rebuilding and revitalizing our beloved community, working together toward a stronger, more vibrant future.

The General Fund is adaptable and distributed among our funds and special initiatives as needed on a case-by-case basis.

Provides essential assistance to our neighbors whose homes or property have sustained damage.

Helps our businesses in reopening their doors, restoring operations, and getting our community back to work.

Provides vital resources to first responders and law enforcement, equipping them for future challenges.

Eases the strain on local resources as our community works toward recovery.
