Reopening Main St.
Creating jobs and commerce

A small contribution can make a life-changing difference
For years, our businesses served this community, providing jobs, services, and a place to gather. Now, after Hurricane Helene’s destruction, we are left picking up the pieces. With your help, we can recover, reopen, and bring our town back stronger than ever.

How we found this figure
Between November 15 and December 6, 2024, Rebuild Hot Springs Area collected applications from Hot Springs, NC residents, workers, and businesses affected by the devastating storm that struck our town on September 27, 2024. These applications revealed an estimated $5,600,000 in physical damages to the businesses of Hot Springs residents. For a detailed breakdown of our findings, the full report is available here.
It is important to note that these figures are based on self-reported data gathered from community members through our first round of Helene assistance applications. While we made significant efforts to raise awareness about the application, we acknowledge that this data may not fully reflect the extent of the damage to our community, and some individuals may not be represented in this report. We continue to research this topic and will update upon our findings.

Commerce is important
Why your support matters
A business is more than just a livelihood—it’s a dream, a source of independence, and a way to support both a family and a community. For many local business owners, the storm brought devastating losses, forcing closures, damaging property, and cutting off income overnight. Without immediate support, the financial strain can become overwhelming, making it difficult to recover and reopen.
Our funding helps ease this burden, providing business owners with the resources they need to rebuild, adapt, and move forward, so they can focus on restoring their livelihoods rather than worrying about how to stay afloat.
Making a real difference
A community effort
Our funding wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of donors and volunteers who believe in rebuilding Hot Springs together. Whether through financial contributions, materials, or hands-on labor, our community has stepped up to ensure that no one is left behind in the recovery process.
If you’d like to support our mission, consider making a donation or volunteering with RHSA. Every dollar brings us one step closer to rebuilding our town—stronger and more resilient than before.
