A look at the numbers gathered from our first round of Helene Assistance Applications.
Between November 15 and December 6, 2024, Rebuild Hot Springs Area accepted applications from Hot Springs, NC residents, workers, and businesses impacted by the devastating storm that hit our town on September 27, 2024. The following are the number of verified and approved applications that we received.
Note: These figures are based on self-reported data gathered from our community members through the application process. We recognize that this does not fully capture the extent of the damage to our community. Despite our efforts to raise awareness about the application, we understand that some individuals may not be represented in this report.

Our Response to the Data
The following breakdown details how we allocated over $200,000 in donated funds to support our community. As we secure additional funding, we will continue to distribute those donations to help restore and rebuild Hot Springs, NC.Â

We distributed $114,000 in economic relief to workers in our town who lost their jobs due to the storm.

Granted to Home Owners
We provided $45,000 in financial assistance to residents whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Helene.

We granted $39,000 in support of impacted Hot Springs businesses.Â

Granted to Organizations
We contributed $7,500 to local community organizations whose missions we support.
