Silvermine Restoration Project

Reviving a River and Trail Town Treasure
The Silvermine Restoration Project is a volunteer-led initiative focused on the revitalization of the Silvermine community in Hot Springs. This neighborhood is not only home to residents who were among the hardest hit by Hurricane Helene in our area, but also serves as a gateway to the outdoors.
Silvermine holds key public river access points to the French Broad where paddlers take out on Section 9 and put in to Section 10. It’s also the point where the Appalachian Trail passes through town and begins the iconic Lover’s Leap Loop.
Our Goals
- Fund dumpsters for the removal of debris
- Mobilize heavy equipment when needed
- Coordinate beautification projects
- Encourage volunteers and community members
Volunteer
If you’re able and willing to get your hands dirty for a good cause, please get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator. The Silvermine Restoration Project depends on dedicated volunteers to help clear debris, restore access points, and bring new life to one of Hot Springs’ most treasured and heavily impacted areas.
Whether you have experience with tools and equipment or just a strong work ethic and a heart for helping others, your time and effort can make a lasting difference. This is a true community effort, and every helping hand brings us one step closer to rebuilding hope.
Provide Supplies
We’re currently in need of basic beautification materials—such as mulch, gravel, and similar landscaping supplies—to help restore and enhance the Silvermine area. These items may seem small, but they play a vital role in stabilizing pathways, defining spaces, and bringing a sense of care and pride back to a community that has weathered so much. If you’re able to donate or source any of these supplies, your contribution will go directly toward creating a safer, more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors alike. Please get in touch if this is something you can provide.
